Barseries visualizations
let you spot trends quickly
The world’s major financial institutions rely on
Panopticon Visual Business Intelligence tools to improve decision-making, reporting and analysis
capabilities. Our Barseries visualization helps
users analyze time series data in an intuitive graphical
display.
Barseries can visualize several parallel time
series simultaneously and makes it easy to see trends
in complex financial data. Barseries can display historical data as well as information that is constantly being
updated in real time.
Interactive Analysis of Real-Time Data
Barseries lets users plot historical data and predict
future trends in seconds. They can slice and dice their
data, drill down to view details, and compare several
small or large time segments by creating new breakdowns on the fly. Simple, easy-to-read hover displays
pop up when the cursor lingers over a single bar – or
a selection of bars – in the Barseries, making it very
easy to compare information about separate events in
the timeline.

You can think of our Barseries visualization as a
graphic pivot table – the individual bars use color and
size instead of numbers communicate values. It
supports grouping of data on several levels with
pivoting in order to compare and analyze cross-sections of your data. Barseries can also function as a
standard bar chart, but with a capacity for thousands
of data points – all of which can be updated in real
time. Our Barseries visualization is like an interactive
treemap that has the added dimension of time; this
makes it possible to visually analyze changes and
trends in time-based datasets.
Easy to Use
Barseries is just like Panopticon’s other visualizations
– easy to learn and easy to use. For example, if you
are using our Explorer desktop product, you just drag
and drop your data onto the application and the software will automatically create settings and
plot a Barseries visualization for you. It’s that simple.
Embed Barseries in Your Application
Our comprehensive SDK lets you embed Barseries in
your own application. We provide you with detailed
code examples and documentation that will help you
get Barseries-enabled applications up and running in
just a few weeks.
Powerful Streaming OLAP Data Model
Behind all Panopticon visualizations is a powerful data
model that serves as the underlying foundation for all
visualizations. The different interactive graphs and
maps all share the same basic structure and make use
of different dimensions available of which the
most obvious are color, size/height, layout
and functionality of the popup bubble. For example,
it’s easy to switch from a treemap view of your data
to a Barseries view.
Users love the ability to look at
things from more than one perspective. Our data
model is truly unique in that it can support very large
historical databases and also handle real-time streaming data feeds from sources like Reuters, Bloomberg,
or internal feeds coming in over Sonic MQ.
Availability
Barseries visualizations are available in all of our
products, including our desktop product for Windows,
our web-deployed enterprise products and our SDK.
You can license Barseries as part of a bundle or
separately from our other visualizations.
