Reduce Implementation Risks with Efficient Workshop Process
Over the years, we have developed an effective, efficient process for training and supporting business users and IT people who are new to our technology, including our desktop, enterprise and SDK products. Put simply: A workshop with Panopticon lets you try before you buy. We work with your people in your facility, using your data and IT environment, to show your people how to get the most out of the systems. You will learn how to configure systems that truly support your business processes and are easy for your users to work with.
The workshop brings together our team with your business and IT people to define requirements, set goals, and actually set up working applications based on your specific requirements. It’s a very low risk approach to adding interactive information visualizations to your operations or applications.
“The evaluation process allowed us to minimize risk from the process of purchasing and implementing an important solution. We were able to demonstrate the value of Panopticon to our users with real data and gauge the effectiveness of the product. Panopticon consultants spent time with Fidelity’s team to understand our needs and worked alongside us to provide pragmatic solutions."
"With a fully functional prototype resulting from the evaluation project, the remaining implementation timeline was significantly reduced. The whole process enabled us to build a strong comfort level with Panopticon’s products, support and willingness to work with us.”

Structured Process Ensures Efficient Use of Business and IT Resources
the Panopticon Workshop is follows a well-defined, structured process in order to provide you with an excellent return on your investment in time. Within a few days, you will determine:
- How to connect to your data repositories
- Select the products that best suit your organization
- Develop configurations that support your users' requirements
- Devise an achievable implementation plan
In order to ensure a successful workshop, we work with the actual users from start. We talk to business and IT people and also assist in installing the software. This initial project phase is also a good way for your team and Panopticon’s consultants to get to know each other and set the stage for later work.
Our consultants spend most of their time in the IT department while at the same time, the project manager is able to conduct brainstorming and training sessions with key business contacts.
This is the agenda for a typical workshop for our Enterprise and Explorer products:
- Preparation. Create a workshop team consisting of people from your IT department, business managers, and users together with Panopticon’s implementation consulting team.
- Client-Specific Work Plan. Develop a workshop plan that is specific you your requirements and interests.
- Kickoff. Kickoff meeting with the workshop team, installation of software on client-owned servers and/or desktop systems, and review of procedures.
- Initial Build. Configure initial application and connect to client's data sources.
- Training. Continue building initial application and work with users to refine configuration.
- Deployment Planning. Select appropriate products, determine hardware requirements for production deployment, define first draft deployment schedule.
- Workshop Summary. Present findings and initial application to key business contacts. workshop team. Determine support structure and procedures for post-workshop evaluation.
- Extended Evaluation. The end of the workshop is the start of your software evaluation period. During the extended evaluation, Panopticon will ensure that you are able to continue successfully using the application and developing new configurations for the software. Panopticon will continue to provide support services and dedicated consulting services.
The workshop process for our SDK follows a similar process, except that we typically do the training sessions prior to the initial build.
