Creative Applications for Visualization Technology

Liljevachs GalleryLiljevalchs Art Gallery is Stockholm's most beautiful exhibition space. The Gallery partnered with Panopticon to create interactive graphics that allow visual exploration of the art exhibited at the gallery's Spring Salon. The Spring Salon (Vårsalongen) is an established institution where promising young artists have been exhibiting their work every year since 1916.

The circular diagram used in this project is a Voronoi Treemap, a new type of visualization which constructs the tessellation using a form of Voronoi diagram. It presented for the first time by Michael Balzer and Professor Oliver Deussen in October 2005.

The software for the diagrams was developed by Stefan Odelfalk at Panopticon in cooperation with graphic designers Johan Cnattingius and Stefania Malmsten as part of the visual communication for Liljevalchs Gallery.
