Panopticon Releases New Barseries Data Visualization Tool
– Developed in cooperation with major financial institution,
new tool is particularly useful for visualizing fixed income data –
Stockholm, Sweden, June 19, 2007 – Panopticon Software, the leading provider of visual business intelligence software, today announced the launch of Panopticon Developer .NET 4.4 , the latest version of the company’s software developer’s kit for .NET environments. This new release introduces “Barseries”, a new, innovative data visualization component that complements Panopticon’s award winning treemaps.
Panopticon CTO and co-founder Markus Skyttner stated, “Our new Barseries component is a powerful and highly versatile complement to our treemap visualization tool. It combines the well-known characteristics of a classic bar chart with dynamic filtering, grouping, pivoting, drill-down and real time updating. The new Barseries component has full support for streaming real time data and uses the same powerful data model as the Panopticon treemap. Barseries can be used as a regular bar chart, a graphic multidimensional pivot table, or a multi-dimensional time series visualization. In all these cases, it allows the user to simultaneously see a high level overview and details for thousands of data records.”
“Barseries was created in close cooperation with one of our major clients in the financial industry. Developers can use the new Barseries component in many ways, but we know from our clients’ experiences that it is particularly useful for visualization of fixed income data”, says CEO Robert Ekström.
Barseries is a major new feature in Panopticon Developer .NET 4.4. This release also includes animated real time update effects, which provide intuitive visual indicators of where and when updates occur in a real time data stream, and a collection of perceptually friendly color schemes that give end-users an enhanced experience of any visualization created.
