 Bullet Graphs are easy to interpret and convey much more information than traditional tools using substantially less screen real estate. Bullet Graphs are the perfect element to add to Business Intelligence Dashboards to call attention to the status of Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Bullet Graphs were developed by information visualization design expert Stephen Few. He created them to replace speedometers and gauges in executive BI Dashboards.
Bullet Graphs display information about a single quantitative measure like year-to-date revenue along with complementary measures to enrich the meaning of the featured parameter. The linear design of the Bullet Graph gives it a very small footprint and makes them much easier to understand quickly than radial meters.

 As with all of our information visualizations, our Bullet Graphs are real-time — they respond instantly to changes in the underlying data. You can feed them with any combination of historical data, calculated results and/or real-time data streams from message queues or other sources.
The Bullet Graph consists of these components:
